Best Available: Who do you want?

Heading into day two, the Jets hold three picks, numbers 39, 70 and 107.

Let's take a look at the best available players* at each position (ignoring fullback and specialists).

*Based on a sweep of several rankings lists, including ones from PFF, CBS and ESPN.

QB: DeShone Kizer, Davis Webb

Both these players were supposedly being considered as possible first round picks, but is there a point at which the potential value becomes too good to pass up for the Jets? I could see someone like Joshua Dobbs or Nathan Peterman being a higher-than-expected pick for someone tonight.

RB: Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara

Also available is Joe Mixon, but who knows how far he's going to fall due to his off-field issues? The Jets are set at the running back position for next year, but could do with adding a dynamic youngster to develop into the lead back in a year or two. The challenge will be deciding where they can land the best value.

TE: Adam Shaheen, Gerald Everett

This is definitely a need area for the Jets, but they could find an upgrade later on in the draft because there's quite a few talented athletes to choose from. Of these two, Shaheen is the more complete tight end.

WR: Curtis Samuel, Chris Godwin

Chase Goodbread reckons Samuel could be a Jet, but there's a lot of depth in this class. Zay Jones and Juju Smith-Schuster would also be good value tomorrow and Smith-Schuster ticks all the boxes on the Jets' apparent criteria preferences we identified yesterday - He's 20, with great character and good length.

OT: Cam Robinson, Dion Dawkins

It speaks to how weak the tackle class is that both these guys could end up as guards. The first offensive lineman didn't come off the board until number 20, a modern day record.

G/C: Forrest Lamp, Dan Feeney

The Jets already seem to have addressed the interior line in free agency, so this would be surprising. OSU's Pat Elflein is an option here if you need a center, but I'll remind you: He is not Nick Mangold.

DL: Malik McDowell, Chris Wormley

Barring a Sheldon Richardson trade, it seems highly unlikely this position will be addressed until later on. Caleb Brantley is also highly ranked but will likely have dropped significantly after an off-field incident last week.

EDGE: Tyus Bowser, Carl Lawson

There's a lot of pass rushing talent available, although browsing through the class, nearly all of the top remaining prospects lack the length that the Jets appear to covet under Todd Bowles and Mike Maccagnan. They may have to make an exception, because they badly need to upgrade their edge rushing.

LB: Zach Cunningham, Raekwon McMillan

Reuniting McMillan with Darron Lee would be an interesting move. This is a position where the Jets have no real depth and a starting opportunity up for grabs once David Harris moves on.

CB: Kevin King, Chidobe Awuzie

There's a whole mess of guys who are considered in the mix to be the next best cornerback. Some other candidates: Quincy Wilson, Cordrea Tankersley, Ahkello Witherspoon, Teez Tabor.

S: Budda Baker, Marcus Williams

It would be a bold and unusual strategy to use the both of their first two picks on safeties, but there is still some good value at this position on day two, which hopefully pushes some talented players at positions of more immediate need down to the Jets.

Let us know who you want the Jets to target - and also who you want them to avoid...
