Breaking: Devin Smith re-tore his ACL this offseason

Mike Maccagnan has been discussing today's draft picks and just revealed that 2015 second round pick Devin Smith, who suffered a torn ACL in his rookie year, is out for the season after re-tearing the ACL in the same knee.

This might give some insight into the reason for the selection of Chad Hansen earlier today. Hansen is a similar player insofar as he is a deep threat that didn't really run a full route-tree in college.

This is a tough blow for Smith who struggled to establish himself in an injury-plagued first season before suffering the original ACL injury. Last season he caught just one pass in four games.
