Breaking: Jets draft Hamsah Nasirildeen with the 186th pick

With their first pick of the sixth round, the Jets picked another defensive back with great size and versatility.

At 6'4" and 220 pounds, Nasirildeen could have the potential to convert to a hybrid linebacker role or might even get a look as a Brandon Browner style boundary corner, despite being listed as a safety. The Jets may have doubled up at the inside linebacker position with this pick and the earlier Jamien Sherwood pick, although either could revert to safety eventually.

Nasirildeen, who had been projected as a day two pick, has an 83-inch wingspan and had over 100 tackles in 2019. He intercepted four passes at Florida State. He didn't play much last year as he was returning from a torn ACL.

The Jets still have two more sixth round picks remaining - at 200 and 207.

Welcome to the Jets, Hamsah!
