Breaking: Jets sign CB Reed

The Jets went all-offense on day one but have made a defensive move today by signing former Seattle cornerback DJ Reed to a three-year deal worth a reported $33 million.

Reed, a former fifth round pick who began his career as a slot cornerback in Robert Saleh's defense in San Francisco, is only 5'9" and 188. However, the 25-year old moved to the outside with Seattle over the past two years and played well.

The Jets seem content to play smaller cornerbacks on the outside with Brandin Echols and Javelin Guidry splitting reps there last season. Those two will now presumably provide depth behind Reed and Bryce Hall.
