Any lingering Jets hopes of landing Khalil Mack were dashed this morning with the following news:
Sources to ESPN: Raiders and Bears have an agreement in place to trade Khalil Mack to Chicago. Still working through it, but Raiders now planning to send Mack to Chicago.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) September 1, 2018
The Jets were definitely interesting in trading for Mack and extending him to a big money deal, and we had the sense all along that a deal was possible, but the price was presumably too rich for their blood. The Raiders may also have been reluctant to trade him to another AFC team.
We now turn our attention back to the Jets, who have more moves to make today to get under the roster limit by 4pm ET and may also turn their attention to other potential pass rush solutions. We'll update you on this throughout the day.
