Buzz: Hackenberg impressing Jets

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports on twitter that the Jets "have been pleased with the way Christian Hackenberg has looked" this spring.

By now, we all know how this works. The Jets, presumably in an effort to distance themselves from all the negativity caused by experts ranking them as the worst team in the league, will routinely feed positive information like this to a credible source like Schefter in exchange for scoops down the road.

However, if there was no truth to it, they wouldn't be so keen for this narrative to warrant extra attention. Therefore, it's hopefully a good sign in terms of how Hackenberg is progressing. If Hackenberg had been terrible and shown no signs of improvement whatsoever, they'd probably be more likely to try and divert attention elsewhere.

For what it's worth, in the limited footage from yesterday's practice that is floating around online, Hackenberg did seem to display crisp footwork and looked technically sound, but still had some issues in terms of his accuracy.

With no media on hand today, Hackenberg is expected to get first-team reps.
