CFL update: Former Jets continue to make their mark

We are now into week four of the CFL season so let's review how some of the ex-Jets participating above the border have been faring.

One of the bigger stories has been wide receiver TJ Luther, who scored the winning touchdown for Edmonton in the Winnipeg game the other day.

Luther is off to a strong start with 13 catches for 143 yards in his first three CFL appearances.

Luther's winning score overshadowed a good game from another ex-Jet as Tim White has five catches for 55 yards including this touchdown.

White has been a top CFL receiver for several years and is having another productive year with 14 catches for 194 yards and two scores in three games.

His teammate, Pokey Wilson had a big game a few weeks ago with six catches for 87 yards and a touchdown but he went without a catch in the Edmonton loss.

Another ex-Jets receiver, Keon Hatcher, had one nice game with four catches for 64 yards but had otherwise been quiet.

In non-wideout news, Sergio Castillo has been struggling with three missed field goals in the past two games after hitting a game winner in the opener.

On the defensive line, Jake Ceresna has failed to add to his three sacks in the opener but former Jets starting fullback Julian Howsare had a two-sack game a few weeks ago.

Otherwise, there have been some modest contributions from a few other ex-Jets including Mario Alford on special teams, linebacker Micah Awe and defensive back Tevaughn Campbell.
