Countdown to the draft: 4 days to go
The 2022 draft is almost here and we're counting down the days...
With the 4th pick
The Jets have picked five times at four overall in the NFL draft with legendary offensive linemen D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Marvin Powell highlighting this group. Linebacker Marvin Jones was also a great pick.
DeWayne Robertson and Chris Ward are regarded as busts, but each was a pretty solid multi-year starter despite not living up to his draft slot.
They pick fourth again this year, of course.
Four years ago
The Jets gave up three second round picks to move up for Sam Darnold in an ill-fated move that didn't bring them the can't-miss prospect some analysts were promising. One of their 2018 picks is still with the team, though, after Nathan Shepherd re-upped during the offseason.
Like Darnold, Chris Herndon earned the Jets some draft compensation via trade. Folorunso Fatukasi was also a great pick, although he left for Jacksonville last month.
In the 4th round
The Jets have had some decent recent success in the fourth round with players like Kerry Rhodes, Jerricho Cotchery, Leon Washington and Bilal Powell all becoming good long-term contributors. Tackle Jason Fabini was perhaps the best fourth round pick they ever made though, although there are high hopes for Ace Carter.
Number 4s in the draft
The Jets drafted Glenn Foley - who had actually worn number 14 as a rookie - with a 7th round pick in 1994. He went 0-3 as a starter in 1998, a year where the Jets went 12-4 and won the division.
They also used a draft pick to land punter Lac Edwards several years ago.
