Draft Week: Friday rivalry weekend matchup viewing guide

There's four ranked teams and plenty of draft prospects in action today as rivarly weekend starts to ramp up.

Here's the pick of the games to watch:

Early games

The big headline game here is #2 Miami at Pittsburgh with the Hurricanes hoping not to slip up and lose their spot in the playoffs. Pitt threw a wrench in the works last year when they upset Clemson 43-42 and they'll be looking to repeat the trick here, led by safety Jordan Whitehead.

Another ranked team is in action, as #12 TCU takes on Baylor. There's little hope of an upset here though, as Baylor is 1-10 on the season.

Late afternoon games

The headliner here is South Florida versus Central Florida. Despite their 10-0 record, UCF is just the 15th ranked team in the nation, but perhaps has a good shot at a New Year's Six bowl game.

Iowa against Nebraska could also be good. Nebraska hasn't been very good this year but battled back late to pull back last week's game against Penn State to a respectable 56-44 final score. Iowa - led by emerging cornerback sensation Joshua Jackson - has been unpredictable all year.

Late games

Virginia Tech (#25) is the only ranked team in action after dark, as they host Virginia. There's some good defensive prospects in action in this game, including linebacker Tremaine Edmunds for the Hokies and safety Quin Blanding for the Cavaliers.

Four unranked teams face off in rivalry games with Texas Tech facing Texas and UCLA meeting California. Tackle Connor Williams and linebacker Malik Jefferson will be in action for Texas, who had an impressive win over West Virginia on Saturday. Bruins quarterback Josh Rosen will look to further boost his reputation with another good game against the Bears.
