DraftFix: Pro Day Recap #1

Between now and the draft, we'll have a few updates to highlight some of the most interesting numbers from draft prospects at their pro day workouts. Here were some of the notable ones from the pro days so far up to the end of last week:

Navy
Running back Eli Heidenreich was at the combine where he ran 4.44 but he impressed with his agility here as he had a 4.03 short shuttle and a 6.5 three cone drill. Another prospect who impressed doing running back drills was Landon Robinson, who is one of the more unique prospects this year. He was a defensive tackle at Navy despite being only 5-foot-11. He weighed in at 291 and posted good numbers across the board including 30 bench press reps and a sub-4.8 40-yard dash.

Wisconsin
Safety Austin Brown posted a terrific set of numbers at 215 pounds with a 4.47 in the 40, 43-inch vertical and 20 bench press reps headlining.

Kentucky
Offensive lineman Jager Burton posted a 115-inch broad jump and 4.45 short shuttle at 312 pounds. He can play guard or center.

UCLA
Running back Anthony Frias II posted 30 bench press reps which would have led all backs at the scouting combine.

Rutgers
No Rutgers players were invited to the combine so this was a good chance for this players to impress NFL scouts. Wide receiver DT Sheffield made the biggest impact as he ran a 4.38.

Clemson
Defensive tackle Peter Woods was the biggest name taking part but he refused to run the 40-yard dash or do the bench press. He jumped a 29-inch vertical and a 104-inch broad, which are slight above average.

Others who made an impression include wide receiver Antonio Williams, who also spent an hour meeting with Jets passing game coordinator Seth Ryan. Williams ran 4.41 with a 39.5-inch vertical and 124-inch broad jump but managed just 10 bench press reps.

In addition, cornerback Jeadyn Lukus, who also ran 4.41, posted a phenomenal broad jump of 139 inches.

Illinois
Offensive lineman Josh Gesky, listed at 335 pounds, weighed in at 310 and posted a 33-inch vertical.

Northern Illinois
Linebacker Quinn Urwiler posted 36 reps on the bench press, a mark only one prospect at this year's combine was able to top. He also ran a three-cone drill of 6.86, which was better than any linebacker at the combine, and ran sub-4.7 in the 40.

Oklahoma
Defensive tackle Gracen Halton, who already showed off a 36.5-inch vertical in his combine workout, managed 25 bench press reps before tweaking his hamstring. Two other players ran particularly well: Wide receiver Deion Burks posted a 4.30 in the 40-yard dash and tight end Jaren Kanak ran a 4.52.

USC
Wide receiver Makai Lemon, one of the top receiver prospects in the draft, made an impression with an unofficial 4.46 in the 40-yard dash. Also impressive was Eric Gentry, a linebacker with an incredible 85-inch wingspan. He ran 4.54, posted a 34.5-inch vertical and managed to crack the 11-foot mark on his broad jump.

We'll have another update next week...
