DraftFix: Pro Day Recap #4
In recent weeks, we've been giving updates to highlight some of the most interesting numbers from draft prospects at their pro day workouts. Here is the fourth and penultimate installment:
Auburn
Defensive end Keldric Faulk made headlines with a 4.67 in the 40-yard dash, which offensive linemen Dillon Wade (5.02 at 316 pounds) and Connor Lew (31 bench press reps) also showed out.
Cincinnati
Linebacker Jack Dingle posted a solid set of numbers with a 4.58 in the 40-yard dash and 7.10 in the three-cone drill.
Iowa State
Disappointingly, Domonique Orange was unable to participate due to an ankle injury. The defensive linemen, nicknamed the Big Citrus, may hold a private workout within the next few weeks.
Louisville
Defensive tackle Rene Konga made the biggest waves here as he ran a 4.64 and posted a 122-inch broad jump. That mark was better than anyone at his position at the scouting combine.
N.C. State
Linebacker Sean Brown posted some good numbers with a 4.59, 36-inch vertical and 126-inch broad jump.
Notre Dame
Wide receiver Will Pauling and cornerback DeVonta Smith were the standouts as Pauling ran 4.37 and posted a 42-inch vertical and 128-inch broad jump and Smith ran 4.41 with a 43-inch vertical.
Texas
Edge defender Ethan Burke was considered a combine snub but he posted disappointing numbers at 267 pounds. He ran 4.88 and posted a 29-inch vertical and 15 bench press reps.
UConn
Wide receiver Skyler Bell is a potential day two pick and he did his chances no harm with a 4.40 in the 40-yard dash, 41-inch vertical and 133-inch broad jump. Also, kicker Christopher Freeman made 13 of 14 field goals, including a 65-yarder.
Nebraska
An interesting prospect at tight end is former quarterback Heinrich Haarberg who ran a 40 in the mid-4.4's and posted a 128-inch broad jump.
Texas A&M
Linebacker Taurean York was one of the day's top performers as he ran a 4.53 and posted a 30.5-inch vertical, but tight end Amari Niblack also showed out with a 4.68 and a 123-inch broad jump.
We'll have our final pro day update in the next few days...
