DraftFix: Saturday's college all-star game primer

Coming up on Saturday are two of the three main college all-star games. The NFLPA Collegiate Bowls kicks off at 7pm ET and the East West Shrine Game took place earlier this afternoon. (Boxscore here).

Of course neither game is as important as next week's Senior Bowl, but there are always a few players who are able to raise their stock and the Jets often show interest in and occasionally draft players from these games.

Tackle Trey Pipkins, who was drafted in the third round by the Chargers and started three games, was probably the highest profile success story from last year's East-West Shrine game, but other players like Justin Hollins, Michael Dogbe, Lamont Gaillard, Daylon Mack, Terry Godwin and Oli Udoh also got drafted. Several other players were undrafted but made it onto a team's roster, including David Blough who made some starts at quarterback with the Lions.

The Jets also signed four undrafted free agents that had played in the Collegiate Bowl last year - Kyron Brown, Jeff Smith, Trevon Sanders and John Battle. Recent performers have included Will Dissly, Tarik Cohen, Greg Ward and Shaquil Griffin. Kelvin Beachum and Avery Williamson also played in this game.
