Front Office News: Phil Savage to join Joe Douglas' staff

It looks like the Jets are about to fill one of their front office roles:

While Savage's reputation took a hit after his stint as the Browns' general manager, he wouldn't have risen to that level without having had some good success in Baltimore, where he worked alongside Douglas in both scouting and pro personnel roles. This could therefore prove to be a decent hire based on the Peter Principle.

Savage also spent six years basically running the senior bowl, so should have good familiarity with a lot of the young players who entered the league in recent years.
