In addition, the team confirmed that - having been listed as questionable after Friday's practice - starting safety Tony Adams has been ruled out. Rookie Malachi Moore will get his first NFL start having played 48 snaps in a reserve role last week and Clark will make his NFL debut as he can provide depth with Isaiah Oliver.
With six players ruled out (Justin Fields, Kene Nwangwu, Jermaine Johnson, Josh Reynold, Jay Tufele and Adams), the Jets were obviously going to bring up some reinforcements with Cook the most obvious move since he's the only other quarterback available to back up Tyrod Taylor.
The Jets did not elevate a defensive end with Jermaine Johnson out and only Braiden McGregor and rookie Tyler Baron available to backup Micheal Clemons and Will McDonald. They can probably uses some interior linemen on the edge in an emergency.
