Injury/Roster Update: Brown to IR

The final injury report of Browns week is out:

We've placed T Duane Brown on IR and signed TE Zack Kuntz to the active roster.

Additionally, we've signed K Austin Seibert to the practice squad.

Brown's season, and probably his career, is obviously over now. It's a shame, but not surprising, that a player who was still really good in 2021 has just never been healthy with the Jets.

The Jets elevating Kuntz gives them a chance to look at him with Ruckert unavailable. He wasn't very impressive in preseason but maybe he'll have improved with a year on the scout team.

Seibert can kick if Zuerlein can't go and Dalvin Cook will get extra work if Abanikanda is out. Lazard missing the game wouldn't be a big deal either now that Jason Brownlee is healthy again. Randall Cobb would probably just be active instead.

Cooper will surely play for the Browns, despite not practicing, but Walker and Okoronkwo won't return this week and Thornhill might not either. The Browns have cover available on their practice squad for their kicker and punter (Matt Haack and Riley Patterson), though.
