Injury update: Crowder returns to practice, but Fatukasi placed on Covid reserve

The Jets issued Thursday's injury report:

There was also this news:

This should rule Fatukasi out for Sunday which is a big loss because he's been one of the Jets' most reliable players for the past two seasons. However, it will be a good opportunity for Trevon Coley, Nathan Shepherd and perhaps Tanzel Smart.

Fatukasi apparently had close contact with someone who tested positively but hasn't had a positive test himself. This marks the first time all season than an actual contributor has been affected.

Crowder's return, albeit on a limited basis, suggests he's trending towards being able to play on Sunday.

Perriman and McGovern practiced full so they both are clearly expected to play after being limited yesterday.

Adam Gase was less optimistic about La'Mical Perine's availability for this weekend, saying that the goal is for him to play the last two games even though he's practicing now. Sam Ficken could still be activated for Sunday, despite Chase McLaughin being claimed off waivers on Monday.

Gase also said that Jordan Jenkins, who went onto injured reserve yesterday, may need shoulder surgery. He's a free agent again at the end of the year, having signed a one-year deal to return to the Jets.
