Injury update: Skrine dealing with concussion

Todd Bowles provided the media with the first injury update of the week and the big news is that Buster Skrine has a concussion. If Skrine can't go on Sunday, the Jets will presumably use Morris Claiborne and Darryl Roberts as the starter while Juston Burris, who hasn't received any defensive reps since week four, will likely be the third cornerback.

New addition Robert Nelson might even receive reps because he may be more suited to playing in the slot than any of those three. They could also employ their safeties in that role, but rookie Derrick Jones will probably still have to wait for his chance.

The Jets already lost Xavier Coleman this week and Bowles confirmed he'll need surgery on a torn labrum.

Brandon Shell, who was knocked out of Sunday's game with an early neck injury, also missed practice, along with Jordan Leggett and Muhammad Wilkerson. Tests on Shell's neck injury came back negative. Wilkerson told the media he's receiving pain shots in both his shoulder and toe, but implied they may be able to reduce the frequency of these as he improves.

The only player limited in practice was wide receiver Robby Anderson.
