Media was on hand for the Jets' joint practice with the Bucs today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:

  • Breece Hall warmed up with the team but didn't participate;
  • Carl Lawson missed practice again;
  • Laken Tomlinson did not practice so Joe Tippmann got some first team reps at left guard;

  • Zach Wilson also had success, hitting Irvin Charles and Tyler Conklin downfield and CJ Uzomah down the seam;
  • There were multiple scuffles between the teams with Malik Taylor, Billy Turner and Trey Dean among those involved;
  • The Jets used a lot of short and quick passes in the first 11 on 11 session with Garrett Wilson targeted frequently. They also got good gains as Rodgers rolled out to find Allen Lazard and on an Ace Carter run;
  • Rodgers almost threw a interception as the cornerback jumped a route outside;
  • Zach Wilson threw a pick six due to a miscommunication with Nick Bawden;
  • Rodgers struggled in the second team session as the Jets tried some longer developing plays and he was sacked twice in quick succession. He did hit Kenny Yeboah for a nice gain though;
  • Tippmann and Turner allowed interior pressure between them on a stunt;
  • Cornerback coach Tony Oden was carted off after an apparent collapse in the heat;
  • When practice resumed Rodgers was sacked twice more, with one due to a mixup between Max Mitchell and Wes Schweitzer. He responded with a nice throw to Garrett Wilson again;
  • He then also connected with Lazard and Uzomah before being sacked twice more with Mitchell giving up one on a spin move;
  • Zach Wilson was also sacked on his next set;

  • In a two minute drill, the Jets stopped the Bucs' first team but the second team got into field goal range despite Quinton Jefferson recording a sack;
  • The first team offense got into field goal range but ran out of time. Lazard had a drop but Rodgers hit Carter twice, Cobb twice and Conklin on the drive with one of the Cobb connections being one of the best throws all day; and
  • Wilson had a connection to Gipson on the final drive of the day but they didn't score.
