Jets Camp Practice Recap - 8/20/22 (Joint Practice with the Falcons)

The Jets held another joint camp practice with the Falcons today with media and fans on hand, so here's what went down based on reports from those in attendance:

  • The teams were in shells and shorts;
  • Quinnen Williams, Bryce Huff and Duane Brown were in the rehab area, while Carl Lawson got a rest day and worked on the stationary bike and Lamarcus Joyner returned to team drills following an illness-related absence;
  • In 7-on-7's Joe Flacco hit on long passes to rookies Breece Hall and Irvin Charles;
  • Hall later had a good gain on a cutback run;
  • In red zone work, Flacco put good touch on a throw to Elijah Moore at the back corner of the end zone;
  • Garrett Wilson had a leaping catch at the back of the end zone but came down out of bounds;
  • There was another scuffle, with Justin Hardee involved;
  • Micheal Clemons went back to the locker room with a trainer;
  • Will Parks and Hardee each had a good pass break-up;
  • Jermaine Johnson had a sack against the Falcons' backups;
  • Chris Streveler hit Jeff Smith for a red zone touchdown;
  • Braxton Berrios had a diving touchdown catch in red zone 7-on-7's and Tyler Conklin also had a touchdown from Flacco;
  • The defense struggled in this period with Marcus Mariota throwing three touchdowns in four attempts;
  • Mike White threw touchdowns to Wilson, Denzel Mims and Berrios;
  • Ahmad Gardner had good coverage on Kyle Pitts in the end zone on fourth down after a two-minute drill;
  • In another situational two minute drill, the Jets - down 14-6, with 45 seconds to go - got the ball down to the goal line on a 24-yard pass from Flacco to Corey Davis who made a juggling catch. Flacco then hit Conklin for a touchdown and Carter on the 2-point conversion;
  • The Falcons backups drove the field and scored on a short touchdown run; and
  • Wilson had another leaping catch from Mike White where he came down out of bounds near the end zone.

The teams face each other in preseason action on Monday night. Tomorrow is a day off.
