Jets Camp Practice Report - 7/30/23

Media was on hand for the Jets' training camp practice today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:

  • Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook, on a free agent visit was in attendance;
  • After tweaking an ankle last week, Garrett Wilson did not practice;
  • Mekhi Becton and Allen Lazard, who each missed time last week, were back in team drills;
  • Randall Cobb practiced for the first time, so must have been activated from the PUP list;
  • Duane Brown and John Franklin-Myers worked over on the side;
  • Bam Knight had two nice outside runs early;
  • Jermaine Johnson continued his good camp with another sack around the edge;
  • Aaron Rodgers drew the defense offside twice, then hit Lazard for a touchdown in red zone drills. Lazard made a leaping catch in tight coverage from Jordan Whitehead;
  • DJ Reed had a diving pass breakup on a deep throw from Rodgers to Malik Taylor and then Ace Carter and Lazard each had a drop on a two-minute drill so the Jets had to settle for a field goal. He had hit big passes to Tyler Conklin and Mecole Hardman on the drive. Hardman made good yardage after a short play-action pass to convert a third down and Conklin made a downfield catch after Rodgers extended the play by rolling right;
  • Zach Wilson, who had a rough day, missed an open Jason Brownlee with an overthrow on his drive; and
  • Greg Zuerlein made 9-of-10 field goals, connecting from every distance apart from 63 yards.
