Jets G/W Scrimmage Recap

We'll have more on today's green/white scrimmage tomorrow but, for now, the main points to note according to those in attendance are:

• There was a ton of penalties early, frustrating the crowd;
• Early standouts included Isaiah Davis, Brandon Smith and Bump Cooper;
• Will Mcdonald, Byron Cowart and Micheal Clemons each had a sack against the first team offense;
• Brandon Stephens had a couple of nice plays in coverage;
• Quincy Williams had a standout performance including a sack;
• Nick Folk missed a 53 yard field goal after a penalty negated an initial make;
• The Adrian Martinez-led third unit were first to get on the board with a Harrison Mevis chip shot after first downs by Pokey Wilson and Malachi Corley;
• Kris Boyd was carted off with an injury and Josh Reynolds and Xavier Gipson were also injured;
• The first touchdown was a short Tyrod Taylor pass to Stone Smartt after a long Davis catch and run;
• Mevis missed three in a row in a kicking gauntlet drill. Folk made four of five;
• Fields finally got the first tram offense on the board on a 25 yard touchdown run;
• Taylor hit Smartt again for a 28 yard score after buying some time by rolling out;
• In red zone work Fields and Breece Hall had touchdown runs but the passing game was still struggling; and
• Practice was cut short with Fields 2 of 10 (one drop by Mason Taylor) and there were 12 penalties.
