Jets OTA practice recap - 6/3/25

Media were on hand for the Jets' OTA practice today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:

  • Among the players not at practice were Quinnen Williams, Will McDonald, Sauce Gardner and Micheal Clemons. Clemons has apparently been attending OTAs but skipping the media-covered sessions;
  • Malachi Corley was also absent but that one is injury-related;
  • Rashad Weaver had two sacks in team drills and a couple of good reps against Armand Membou in individuals;
  • Jamin Davis apparently also impressed in pass rushing drills;
  • Tyrod Taylor made some good throws including back-to-back completions to Pokey Wilson, one of which was a leaping catch on a downfield throw over a defender;
  • Garrett Wilson had a spectacular catch over Deuce Carter on a Justin Fields downfield throw;
  • Fields had a strong day but still held the ball too long or was late on a couple of occasions;
  • Rookie Malachi Moore intercepted fellow rookie Brady Cook on a diving grab and ran it back for a score;
  • Jamaal Pritchett had a big play on a deep throw by Adrian Martinez;
  • Aaron Glenn had to pause practice after a couple of scuffles;
  • Xavier Gipson had a spectacular catch on 4th-and-long from Taylor, making a diving concentration grab after tipping it to himself;
  • Gipson also had a big catch on a downfield throw by Martinez;
  • Mason Taylor made some plays in 7-on-7's;
  • Brandon Stephens forced an incompletion against (Garrett) Wilson, running stride for stride with him down the field;
  • Jarius Monroe made a couple of plays on the ball, including a pass breakup in the end zone; and
  • Jaylin Simpson ended practice with a pick-six after a Martinez pass was deflected.
