Jets select David Bailey with the 2nd pick in the 2026 draft

With their first pick of the 2026 draft, the Jets selected David Bailey, an edge defender from Texas Tech.

The Jets had apparently decided Bailey was the guy a week or so ago, and nothing that happened this week caused them to change their mind.

He's a talented player who scouts believe will come in and make an immediate impact as a pass rusher on a team that was second-worst in the league in sacks in 2025.

In the long run, the Jets could regret this pick if Arvell Reese proves to be the bigger star, but New York's coaching staff is obviously confident they can get the best out of him.
