Jets select TE Jeremy Ruckert with the 101st overall pick

With (barring a trade) their second and final pick of day two, the Jets selected tight end Jeremy Ruckert, who grew up in the New York area. He was a teammate of Garrett Wilson at Ohio State but didn't work out during the offseason due to a foot injury.

The Jets were clearly looking for value here, having already added two veteran tight ends during the offseason. This position will be completely overhauled with Ruckert probably being used mostly as a blocker initially, with the potential to develop his pass catching skills.

As things stand, the Jets only have two picks remaining tomorrow, both in the fourth round (111, the sixth pick of the day and 117). They could, of course, trade down to get some more picks later on though.
