Jets select VJ Payne with the 228th pick in the 2026 NFL draft

With their eighth and final pick of the 2026 draft, the Jets selected VJ Payne, a safety from Kansas State.

Payne is a value pick, who was one of the highest ranked players left on the board. He has good length and some coverage abilities along with 4.4 speed and good explosiveness numbers. He has plenty of experience and racked up over 200 tackles and four interceptions in his four-year college career.
