Jets Training Camp Practice Recap - 7/29/25

Media were in attendance today for the Jets' practice. Here's what went down according to those on hand:

  • Braelon Allen did not practice with Kene Nwangwu seemingly moving up to the number three back role for the day;
  • Justin Fields participated in the 11 on 11 team session again but didn't complete a pass on his first series;
  • Fields had one pass dropped by Mason Taylor as he was flushed from the pocket and Jamien Sherwood dropped deep to disrupt a pass intended for Garrett Wilson;
  • Wilson did draw a penalty from Brandon Stephens on his other attempt though;
  • Quincy Williams had a good open field tackle on a running play;
  • Fields' second series once again saw him unable to complete a pass with Stephens breaking up a throw to Wilson;
  • The defense was also handling the running game with Quinnen Williams blowing up one play;
  • The third series wasn't much better from the offense although Breece Hall had positive yardage on a run and a short pass;
  • Fields threw good passes to Josh Reynolds and Arian Smith but the Reynolds one would have been a sack as the pocket collapsed and the Smith one was dropped;
  • Malachi Moore had a tackle for loss on a screen pass to Dymere Miller;
  • Clemons and Sherwood had sacks on Fields; and
  • The practice ended on a high for the offense as they drove the field in 51 seconds, scoring on a 15-yard Fields pass to Taylor at the pylon. Facing 4th-and-3 after short completions to Hall and Wilson and an overthrow to Wilson, Fields set up the touchdown with a 10-yard scramble and an 18-yard crosser to Allen Lazard.

Note: The Jets are off again tomorrow but scheduled to be in pads again for Thursday morning's practice which should include a focus on red zone work.
