In between now and the start of the new league year, we're going to look at each of the Jets' pending free agents to decide whether or not the Jets should bring them back. We continue today with placekicker Eddy Piniero.
Piniero was brought in late in the season when the Jets released Matt Ammendola and Alex Kessman in successive weeks. Although he made all eight of his field goals, including one from beyond 50 yards, and only missed one of 10 extra points on a kick that was blocked, Piniero wasn't particularly impressive in terms of his leg strength as he often kicked with a low trajectory.
The Jets might look to upgrade to someone with more upside and a bigger leg but there's no reason Piniero shouldn't be back to compete for a role. What do you think? Please respond to the following poll and expand on your vote in the comments.
