After the deadline passed for the franchise-tagged Kirk Cousins to sign a long-term deal, there's been plenty of discussion about whether the Jets might be interested in signing him next season.
The Jets will have plenty of cap space and have an obvious need for a quarterback, unless someone unexpectedly steps up this year.
Cousins, who will be 30 next year, is not considered elite but sits on the precipice of being "a franchise quarterback" in the eyes of many. He has a career quarterback rating of 93.6 and has won 19 of his 41 starts. In 2015, he led the NFL in completion percentage and he passed for almost 5,000 yards and went to his first pro bowl in 2016.
