Poll: What should the Jets do about Jamal Adams?

Over the past few days, there's been a lot of speculation about the status of Jets pro bowl safety Jamal Adams following reports that he has requested a trade, apparently in response to the fact that a contract extension has not been forthcoming from the team.

According to the reports, Adams - who is still only 24 and potentially under team control for at least 2-3 more years - has seven teams (all of them contenders) which he would like to join in a trade and might even be prepared to accept a trade without an extension in place from his new team.

The new CBA is unkind to players who seek to hold out while under contract so Adams may not have much leverage in terms of continuing to threaten a hold out, but nothing can stop him from acting disgruntled, disparaging the Jets organization and stating his preference for what should happen next.

We're not going to speculate on questions about whether Adams' backstage attitude has been all it's been made out to be over the past few years, whether this could signify a rift between Adams and head coach Adam Gase or even what it says about his faith in his teammates and the team's chances to be good within the next year or so.

For now, let's just focus on what you currently think the team should do based on what we do know; Adams is a great player, the Jets haven't extended him yet for whatever reason and training camp is schedule to start soon.
