Postgame: Jets fall short in 14-7 loss to Chargers

The Jets dropped to 5-10 on the season and 4-4 at home with a listless 14-7 loss to the L.A. Chargers.

Bilal Powell rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown for the Jets, but Bryce Petty had a poor game at quarterback. Nevertheless, the Jets got down into the red zone with a chance to tie and three minutes remaining, only for Petty's fourth down throw to the end zone to be off the mark.

Defensively, the Jets didn't record a sack or an interception, although they did hold the Chargers to three yards per carry, despite Muhammad Wilkerson being inactive and Leonard Williams missing most of the game with a back injury.

The Jets ended the game with 197 rushing yards, despite the fact starters Wesley Johnson and Brian Winters did not play and Brandon Shell was injured making a tackle on the last play of the first half.

The Jets close out the season on the road to New England next week.
