Practice Recap - 6/4/24

Media was on hand for the Jets' on-field OTA session today. Here's what went down according to those on hand:

  • Haason Reddick was not in attendance again and Tyron Smith got a veteran rest day;
  • Among those not practicing due to injury were Alijah Vera-Tucker, Morgan Moses, Jason Brownlee, Irv Charles, Brandin Echols, Breece Hall and Brady Latham;
  • Malachi Corley was at practice after leaving last week's media session early, but he had a bad drop in warm-ups;
  • Virtually the whole defensive line rotation got the day off as the first unit was Jalyn Holmes, Bruce Hector, Tanzel Smart and Micheal Clemons;
  • Isaiah Davis got plenty of first team reps with Hall out;
  • Clemons blew up a short pass for a short gain;
  • Aaron Rodgers completed a pass over the middle to Jeremy Ruckert but either Eric Watts or Braiden McGregor likely would have had a sack on the play;
  • After another Ruckert catch, there was a pass off Garrett Wilson's hands with Deuce Carter in tight coverage;
  • Corley had a leaping contested catch on a post pattern from Tyrod Taylor;
  • Rodgers hit Wilson with a pass over Tony Adams and then hit him again with a touchdown pass down the seam after Wilson lost his man to get behind the defense;
  • Braelon Allen made an impressive leaping catch in traffic down the field from Taylor;
  • After the defense got pressure a couple of times, Rodgers' third down pass to Allen Lazard was dropped with Sauce Gardner in tight coverage;
  • Taylor hit Kenny Yeboah in stride for a nice gain;
  • Ruckert had another gain on a catch-and-run but Adams broke it up when Rodgers looked for him again on the next play;
  • Allen made another good catch and run, showing good burst;
  • Jarrick Bernard-Converse made a good defensive play in the flat; and
  • On a drive-the-field drill, the Jets went 60-yards in one play on a Rodgers bomb to Xavier Gipson.
