Report: RB Stevan Ridley works out for Jets

According to Mike Garofolo on twitter, the Jets recently worked out running back Stevan Ridley.

Ridley has gained just 95 yards on 43 touches at the NFL level since suffering an ACL injury in 2014, but Garofolo reports that he is now healthy again.

The Jets signed him in 2015 and activated him in the middle of the year but he was clearly not game-ready. Over his first five games, Ridley's 13 touches generated minus-one yard. He was slightly more effective down the stretch but the Jets let him walk at the end of the season. He failed to make the Lions roster last year after signing with them but did see brief action with Atlanta.

In his best season (2012), Ridley rushed for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns, although he was only averaging 3.6 yards per carry in the 2014 season before he injured his knee.

After they already brought back Khiry Robinson for a tryout this offseason, you have to wonder which unsuccessful former Jets' running back will be next to get another shot here. Stay close to your phone, Kahlil Bell's agent!
