Roster News: Jets activate Bell from IR

This move was expected with Adam Gase already having said Bell was looking good in practice this week:

The other moves are minor. Murray gives the Jets an eighth offensive lineman to activate with Mekhi Becton injured and White can serve as the number two quarterback instead of rookie James Morgan, but hopefully neither will be needed. Jackson gives the Jets some additional cover in the secondary and can also contribute on special teams.

Malone's release seemed likely as he wasn't getting reps at wide receiver and the Jets have a few other options to return kickoffs. Ogletree had been really unimpressive at linebacker but his release leaves the Jets light at the position again. Avery Williamson will have to move into a full-time role and Harvey Langi will provide emergency cover until Blake Cashman is also activated.

The other players who started practicing from injured reserve this week (Vyncint Smith, Blake Cashman, Jabari Zuniga) can be activated either next week or the week after.

There are four other players on injured reserve (Cameron Clark, Arthur Maulet, Denzel Mims, Patrick Onwuasor) who could return to practice as early as next week. Bryce Hall is eligible to be activated from the non-football injury list in two weeks.
