Roster News: Jets add Brown, Newman to active roster and elevate Smart, Hanson

The Jets made some roster moves ahead of tomorrow's game:

The big news here is Brown's return. Had he not been activated today that would mean he can't play again this season. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that he will be ready to start in tomorrow's game. With the Jets hopeful Mekhi Becton can suit up tomorrow, it's feasible the Jets could have a group which is almost the same as the five that started the season, just with Joe Tippmann and Max Mitchell in for Connor McGovern and Alijah Vera-Tucker.

There aren't too many other surprises here. Hanson played three offensive snaps last week after being elevated, but Newman has been elevated the maximum of three times so they had to add him to the roster for him to be available as depth. Smart remains in the rotation but they needed his roster spot for Newman.

Glaser, after a reasonably solid first career start at right guard in Buffalo, may yet end up back with the Jets as players like Smart and Craig James have done this year.
