Roster News: Jets add quarterback Brandon Silvers

The Jets have added their first player from the pool of AAF players who suddenly became unemployed last week:

Silvers made two starts with Memphis and ended the season with over 800 passing yards and four touchdowns. He completed 64 percent of his passes and threw two interceptions. In college, he passed for over 10,000 yards in four years with the Troy Trojans with 71 passing touchdowns and another 16 on the ground.

Silvers should compete with Sam Darnold for the starting role in the upcoming season. Just kidding - he's almost certainly been brought in as a camp arm and someone who can eat reps in the Bollinger Bowl.
