Roster News: Jets claim CB Canady, place S Miles on IR

Another roster move by the Jets:

This corrects the imbalance which saw just four cornerbacks on the roster, but does the fact they've added another at this stage mean they won't be activating rookie Blessuan Austin this week? We shall see.

Miles, the longest tenured defensive player on the team, is a loss to the special teams unit but had only played 19 defensive snaps this year. Matthias Farley is currently the third safety with Blake Countess providing additional cover.

Canady is a former sixth round pick who has played in 24 games, starting two, during his four-year NFL career so far. He has nice size and has played both outside and in the slot. He ran a 4.49 in the 40-yard dash at the combine.

The 25-year old entered this season with 34 tackles and one pass defensed but has registered 21 tackles, three passes defensed and the first forced fumble and interception of his career in his five appearances this season.
