Roster News: Jets claim DB Lewis

The Jets are now into that phase of the offseason where they're going to make a dizzying array of personnel moves:

Lewis is an undrafted rookie with decent size (6'1") and he ran a 4.45 in the 40-yard dash and a 6.87 in the three cone drill at his pro day in March. The rest of his workout numbers were average-to-poor though.

He hasn't returned kicks or played as a gunner in college so he seems to have been brought in based on his potential at the cornerback position rather than any immediate contributions he might make on special teams.

He played on the outside at Air Force, where he was a two-year starter and racked up 94 tackles and two 99-yard pick sixes.
