Roster News: Jets place Bilal Powell on IR; sign S Campbell

Big news from the Jets this morning:

Powell hurt his neck in Sunday's game and is essentially out for the season because even if he could get healthy enough to return, he wouldn't be eligible until right at the end of the year. Could this be the end of the road for the longest tenured Jet?

Elijah McGuire is eligible to play next week, but with just Trenton Cannon and Isaiah Crowell healthy, and no fullback to play running back in an emergency, they may opt to activate De'Angelo Henderson off the practice squad before Sunday or make another move.

As for Campbell, he gives the Jets some valuable cover while they wait for Marcus Maye's broken thumb to heal or Rontez Miles to get off the PUP list. The athletic 26-year old was a fourth round pick in 2015 and started 11 games in his first three years with the Browns. Since then, he's spent time with the Texans and Cowboys but only recorded two tackles in five games. He had 80 tackles and no interceptions with the Browns.
