Roster News: Jets place Shell on IR; sign LB Lamur

The Jets made a roster move today:

Shell going onto injured reserve was a formality. The team obviously just waited unti they had a successful waiver claim to make the move.

Lamur is a 29-year old off-ball linebacker who has presumably just been brought in as short term cover since the Jets have only three inside linebackers, one of whom did not practice.

The 245-pound Lamur was undrafted out of Kansas State in 2012 and started four games for the Raiders this year but recorded just 13 tackles. He has also played for the Bengals and Vikings with his best season in Cincinnati seeing him rack up 91 tackles and three interceptions in 2014. He's basically been a reserve since then though.
