Roster News: Jets re-sign McClellan, place Brent Qvale on IR, add two to PS

As expected, the Jets did some more juggling today:

McClellan was probably made aware that the Jets were going to "borrow" his roster spot for 24 hours, but always intended to bring him back. That's been happening a lot around the league and it did seem unlikely the Jets would play their opener with just three off-ball linebackers on the roster, although some of their edge defenders can play there in a pinch.

Had Qvale been placed on injured reserve on Saturday, he would have been ineligible to return, but now will be eligible to return any time after week eight, if required.

Despite going undrafted, Adams led the Eagles in rushing as a rookie with 511 yards and three touchdowns, but did not make the team out of camp and went unclaimed on waivers. The 6'7" Bunting is an undrafted rookie who caught six passes for 109 yards in preseason but struggled as a blocker.

The Jets have two vacant spots, one or both of which could be filled if Doug Middleton and/or Greg Dortch clear waivers this afternoon.
