Roster News: Jets re-sign RB Guerriero, release two

The Jets have made a few more roster moves this evening:

It was inevitable the Jets brought back Guerriero - who was released last week after just two practices with the team. They brought him back for an official visit yesterday, presumably so he could re-test for Covid-19 and take a physical.

Unfortunately for him, the outlook at running back has already improved, with Josh Adams returning to practice today and La'Mical Perine's injury apparently not as bad as first feared.

The fact the Jets made two cuts may signify that DJ Montgomery or Zane Lewis are ready to practice (most likely Montgomery because he signed earlier). Both currently have roster exemptions while they pass through the Covid testing protocols.

Johnson was probably the biggest long-shot out of the Jets' remaining undrafted free agents. He had played at Clemson earlier on in his career but failed to make an impact there and transferred to Coastal Carolina.

Bello was a good special teamer for the Jets in the second half of last season, even scoring a touchdown on a blocked punt. However, he wasn't factoring much on defense in camp. He could be a player that returns at some point if the Jets need special teams reinforcements.
