Roster News: Jets release Henry Anderson
The first real move of the offseason is upon us:
The #Jets have released DL Henry Anderson, who was due $8.2M this season. It saved them nearly that against the cap.

This isn't altogether unexpected. Anderson played well and racked up seven sacks in his contract year but has developed into a low-value run stopper over the past few years. He was always likely to either get a pay cut or an outright release.
The Jets aren't desperate for the cap space by any means, but must feel confident that they can get better value for the money they'll save. Of the players still under contract on the defensive interior, Tanzel Smart has been in the league the longest but Nathan Shepherd is the oldest.
