Roster News: Jets sign K Seibert, Zuerlein out for Sunday

The Jets have been forced to make an emergency move for a kicker:

With kicker Greg Zuerlein being ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. Dallas, the Jets are signing former Browns’ kicker Austin Seibert, per sources.

It's not clear from Schefter's tweet whether Seibert will be simply added to the practice squad and then elevated but either way this will force them to make a corresponding move.

The 26-year old Seibert was one of four kickers the Jets worked out this week and has an 80 percent success rate on field goals at the NFL level with a long of 53 yards. He's kicked for the Browns, Bengals and Lions since being an undrafted rookie in 2019.

It's not believed Zuerlein's injury will keep him out for very long.
