Roster News: Jets sign Marquiss Spencer to the practice squad

The Jets filled the spot vacated by Conor McDermott's departure:

Spencer has only played in one regular season game since being drafted in the seventh round last year. The 25-year old is 6'4" ran a 4.87 at over 300 pounds at his pro day workout.

With Sheldon Rankins injured, the Jets elevated Tanzel Smart from the practice squad this weekend. It remains to be seen if Spencer could also be in the mix for immediate playing time or is just an upside play.
