Roster News: Jets sign QB and re-sign OL, release three

In addition to the Rashard Davis signed that was reported earlier, the Jets made a couple more moves ahead of the first practice tomorrow morning:

Williams replaces Dru Samia, who presumably isn't healthy after being placed on the PUP list a few days ago. He had been with the team last season and can provide depth at guard or tackle.

Streveler will be more of a camp arm. He played a few years in Canada, winning a Grey Cup, before trying to make it to the NFL over the past few years. He's never started an NFL game but has completed 17 of 25 passes for 141 yards with a touchdown and an interception in regular season relief work. He's a 6'1" dual threat who rushed for 22 touchdowns in his two CFL seasons.

Montgomery has been on and off the roster and practice squad a few times over the past few years, but James only arrived a few days ago. Unless they too are injured, we could see them back at some point if the need arises.
