Roster News: Jets sign RB Langford to a futures deal

The Jets have announced a minor move:

Here's what we wrote about Langford when he first signed to the practice squad in early December:

Langford is an interesting addition, who was the heir apparent to Le'Veon Bell at Michigan State and was drafted in the fourth round by the Bears in 2015. In two years with Chicago, Langford rushed for 737 yards and caught 41 passes, scoring 11 total touchdowns. His career so far peaked in the middle of his rookie year as he racked up 142 and 182 yards from scrimmage in consecutive games, adding three touchdowns. He hasn't played yet this season.

The Jets had previously re-signed nine of the 11 players on the practice squad or the practice squad injury list at the end of the season. Langford is the 10th and the only one remaining to not have a futures deal is defensive lineman Francis Kallon.

We'll provide a scouting report on Langford in due course.
