Roster News: Jets sign rookie TE Izaiah Gathings

With XFL players eligible to sign from today, many teams have been signing players who attended their rookie minicamp. The Jets, however, have signed a rookie who was there:

Gathings is a 6'4" small school receiver who only ran a 4.67 at his pro day, so he's been trying out as a tight end and the Jets obviously saw enough from him at rookie camp to warrant a camp invitation.
