Roster News: Jets sign two to active roster

The Jets have made a couple of moves:

After the Leonard Williams trade, the Jets had a roster spot free and adding a healthy linebacker makes sense.

The 24-year old Bello was undrafted in 2017 and has played for the Browns and Eagles so there is a connection to both Gregg Williams and Joe Douglas. He has eight tackles in 19 career games, mostly on special teams. He's played just two defensive snaps since his rookie year.

Maulet's re-activation probably has something to do with the fact that Trumaine Johnson is reportedly dealing with injuries to both ankles.

Koloamatangi could be a developmental project. He's yet to play in a regular season game having been with the Lions for three years but he's still only 25. He's played in 12 preseason games with the Lions, seeing reps at all three interior line positions and giving up two sacks and four penalties, three of which were in the final preseason game this year.

There could be more transactions within the next week or so. Nathan Shepherd is eligible to return from suspension, although they might be able to delay that until next week with a roster exemption. Brent Qvale could return from injured reserve at any time and Bless Austin is already practicing with the team so they need to make a decision on him soon.
