Roster News: Jets sign Wes Schweitzer

The Jets quietly added some offensive line depth:

This is a signing that became necessary when both Nate Herbig and Dan Feeney signed for other teams in the last few days. Schweitzer was drafted in 2016 and actually has 60 career starts at the NFL level. However, the 29-year old has likely been added as a depth piece.

Most of those 60 starts were at guard but he did start several games at center last year. He struggled in pass protection though.

The Jets have a hole at center and most of the top free agents have been re-signed (although last year's starter Connor McGovern is still available). It's unlikely Schweitzer is their solution for a possible starter but he does give them some potential cover.
