Roster News: Jets sign WR Gee Scott Jr.

The Jets had an open roster spot after yesterday's moves, which has now been filled:

Scott is a converted tight end with 4.6 speed, good strength and a 35-inch vertical. He didn't play in the NFL last season as an undrafted rookie but spent time on New England and Washington's practice squads.

In a five-year college career with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Scott caught 47 passes for 393 yards and four touchdowns with most of that production coming in his final season as the Buckeyes won a national title. 11 of his 27 receptions came in the playoffs.

He played in three preseason games with the Patriots last year but wasn't targeted in any of those.
